Chris Simms To Cowboys?

That is the rumor coming out of Tampa Bay training camp.  The 27-year old former Texas Longhorn went on the record this year saying he could not play for Bucs coach Jon Gruden.

Gruden is keeping him on the roster out of spite.

The St. Petersburg Times is reporting:

The Cowboys remain interested in trading for QB Chris Simms if the Bucs will lower their asking price of a midround draft pick.

The Cowboys are believed to have communicated their interest in May but the Bucs have insisted on a third- or fourth-round pick.

The Cowboys should use any draft picks.  The Bucs will have to cut Simms anyway.  If the Bears are interested fine, but Simms would be wise to latch onto the Cowboys.   He will be better off under Jason Garrett than Ron Turner as far as offensive coordinators go.
