Monday Cowboy Camp Notes

Corner Terence Newman left practice with a groin injury according to secondary coach Dave Campo.  It will be interesting to see if you hits the practice field in the afternoon.  I would doubt it.

Rookie Mike Jenkins got to run with the first team when Newman left.  Campo said Jenkins was a lot better today than yesterday.

James Marten was running with the 2nd team today.   Last year’s 3rd round pick is now a guard.  Not good considering he was a tackle when he was drafted out of Boston College.

2007 4th rounder Doug Free is the 2nd team left tackle.

Look for Tony Curtis to have a bigger role in the offense.  He’s the second tight end, but they have him running with the 1st team in two TE sets.

**UPDATE  Newman has a strained groin.  It is not a pull.  Wade Phillips says he is day to day.
