Tom Hicks Makes A Smart Move

Rangers owner Tom Hicks had to bring in Nolan Ryan. He had no credibility as the owner anymore. Hicks dragged this franchise to rock bottom.

Hiring Nolan Ryan as the new president gives Rangers fans a face they can trust.

Ryan will soon get a piece of ownership with the club. He will not let his good name become mud. Hicks needs to let him run this team and he will.

Finally, a baseball man who understands the game and the business side of the sport.

Rangers manager, Ron Washington, should be very happy because he finally gets to talk with someone who has played the game and understands his problems and issues.

GM Jon Daniels will have to report to Ryan. I wonder how long his tenure will last.

I hope they can work together. Daniels has done a tremendous job of restocking the organization with talent. Baseball America rated it as the #4 best in the game for young prospects.

Hicks is a great business man. Great business people find men to run their companies. Bringing the Ryan Express back to Arlington accomplishes that. Smart move.
