Dodge To North Texas

Todd Dodge could do well at North Texas. I look at the fine job Art Briles is doing at Houston.

Briles was a great high school coach at Stephenville. He moved on to Texas Tech as an assistant before taking over at UH. The Cougars have played in the Hawaii Bowl, the Ft. Worth Bowl and this year won the Conference USA title.

So the jump from high school to college won’t be a hard one.

Dodge could have some great success in the Southland Conference.

UNT won the league four straight years before back to back losing seasons got Darrell Dickey pushed out the door.

Dodge was the offensive coordinator for UNT before taking over Southlake Carroll. The Dragons have won two “mythical” national championships.

Good luck to him. He knows the state and could be coaching in the New Orleans Bowl as soon as 2007.

Every high school coach in 5A is very happy to see Dodge move on to the college level. The Dragon haters will be looking for revenge next season.
