Ranger Trades

I know fans got excited about the Rangers working hard to make a trade for Astros workhorse Roy Oswalt. Ol Roy would have looked great in a Ranger uniform, but it just didn’t happen.

Kip Wells may not excite fans, but it’s time for John Rheinecker to move to the pen or down to the minors. This line from the Morning News backs up my take:

“He has gone 0-3 in his last five starts and hasn’t lasted longer than 4 1-3 innings in his last four.”

The Twins roughed him up for 8 runs in less than 2 innings last night.

Yep, time for Wells to join the rotation and Rheinecker is the guy who has to fall out.

Matt Stairs is another role player. Right now, Buck Showalter, is looking for all the options he can get.

The Monday beat down the Twins gave the Rangers may be a sign they just need to say goodbye to July. 15-2….that’s no way to lose if you have sights on a division title. Not coming off a losing series to the weak Royals.

Time for the players to get it done. Hank Blalock, Mark Teixeria….time to get the bats swinging. Carlos Lee and Michael Young can’t win the AL West alone.

Daniels did the best he could. The players have to go out and get the job done. They also need to learn to win at home. The Rangers are 26-30 at home. A team can’t win the division if they can’t win at home.
